Still in the early planning stages for the trip next year. No sponsorship coming in just yet but I do need to drum up a bit of interest. Pretty much know what kit I'm going to need so there's no rush to buy it for the time being.

I did this trip in 2006, and loved every last second of it, even when I fell out of a boat into the sea in Goa (the beginning, and end of MY maritime career!).
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do it again, but don't think I could manage to convince my friends and family to give me money again- plus last time I was a postman and harassed all my regular customers.
All the best to you- enjoy it. The fundraising may be hard, but you'll feel all the better for the hard work when you finally get out there!
I'm still wrestling with myself as to whether or not I should apply to do it again- I went on the Himalayan trip in 2007 (that one is all self funded, not for charity) too, and have a desperate need to do it all again- it really is that good. Not sure if I can persude all my friends and family to part with their cash again though! Thanks for your input. I have heard that those who have gone before found it an uplifting experience. Trouble is, like many things in life, you wait for it to happen for so long and before you know it it's all over and just a few memories! Ah well...that's life!
